Snowy White - Bird Of Paradise

Snowy White es un guitarrista inglés , conocido por haber tocado con Thin Lizzy ( miembro permanente de 1979 a 1982 ) y con Pink Floyd ( invitado a una gira con la banda a través de Europa y Estados Unidos , en 1977 , y durante The Wall shows en 1980 ) y , más recientemente , para la banda de Roger Waters . También es muy reconocida su carrera en solitario y con su Banda , The White Flames .

White creció en la Isla de Wight , completamente autodidacta como guitarrista , habiendo recibido su primera guitarra de sus padres a la edad de diez años . Se mudó a Estocolmo en 1965 a la edad de diecisiete años , pasando más de un año tocando en un trío llamado The Train . En 1968 compró su guitarra característica , Gibson Les Paul Goldtop . En 1970 se dirigió a Londres y encontró trabajo como músico de sesión y como miembro de Heavy Heart . 

Durante este tiempo conoció a Peter Green y los dos comenzaron una amistad de por vida ( White apareció más tarde en el álbum de Green “ In the Skies “ ) .

White había sido recomendado a Pink Floyd por la ex manager de Kate Bush , Hilary Walker , ya que estaban buscando un guitarrista adicional para la banda en vivo en la gira de “ Animals “ en 1977 . El “ sólo “ de White en " Pigs On The Wing " fue su primera vez tocando para la Banda . Durante la gira , White comenzó el show tocando el bajo en la canción " Sheep " , además de solos durante " Have a Cigar " y " Shine On You Crazy Diamond Part VIII " .

En 1979 , el guitarrista de Thin Lizzy , Scott Gorham , después de ver a White tocar con Pink Floyd en Nueva York durante la gira de “ Animals “, le ofreció unirse a Thin Lizzy .
La colaboración con estas dos bandas fue muy complicada ; la invitación para ensayar el show en vivo de The Wall para Pink Floyd , sucedió al mismo tiempo que fue invitado a convertirse en un miembro de tiempo completo de Thin Lizzy , con quien grabó y co-escribió sus álbumes de “ Chinatown “ y “ Renegade “ . White dejó Thin Lizzy en agosto de 1982 .

La conexión de White con Pink Floyd continuó en las últimas décadas . White fue invitado por el ex bajista de Pink Floyd , Roger Waters para tocar en otra toma de The Wall , en 1990 , junto a las ruinas del Muro de Berlín , junto con otros artistas invitados . Waters también llamó a White en 1991 para el concierto de “ Guitar Legends “ en Sevilla .
