Progressive Rock
Tony Levin, Pat Mastelotto (bajista y baterista de King Crimson, respectivamente) y Michael Bernier son Stick Men: poderoso y energético trío de rock progresivo de vanguardia, que con dos sticks y una batería lo mismo interpreta los cuatro movimientos de la suite El pájaro de fuego, de Igor Stravinsky, piezas de King Crimson, que viajadas piezas de art rock.
El stick es un instrumento híbrido, entre bajo y guitarra, poco usual. Su ejecución es con la técnica de tapping(tocar el cuello del instrumento con ambas manos, presionando las cuerdas sobre el diapasón). Emmett Chapman lo creó a finales de los años 70, pero quien lo popularizó en sus apariciones con la vanguardista banda de progresivo King Crimson, así como con Peter Gabriel, fue Tony Levin, oriundo de Boston, quien lo ha llevado a nuevos conceptos de la música contemporánea.
