Hace ya un tiempo, me dedicaba a pasear o navegar por las paginas de Myspace, viendo artistas nuevos, que aún no tenían un disco y la verdad que muchas veces me he visto sorprendido por la cantidad de gente con talento que ahí cuelga su música y que por falta de oportunidades, no han podido aún salir al mercado.

El caso que hoy presento en una chiquita madrileña que con 22 años me sorprendió muchísimo y me dejó un grato recuerdo de su visita a su espacio musical que podeis ver en http://www.myspace.com/russianready . Estos días me enteré de que habia publicado un album y os lo quiero presentar a ver si os gusta como a mi me ha gustado.

Conocida por muchos como la Feist española,en la que se inspira en muchas de sus actitudes ante el micrófono, la artista que compone e interpreta todas sus canciones en inglés afirma que canta en dicho idioma por instinto, porque siempre había escuchado música en inglés y es la que le sale de dentro.
El proyecto de Russian Red surgió cuando Lourdes conoce a Brian Hunt, músico de padre inglés y madre española con el que graba una maqueta (que incluía títulos que permanecerían inéditos como "Reason", "The Night of the Paper" o "Sadie") que llega a recibir más de 70.000 visitas en el sitio web MySpace.
El nombre de Russian Red viene de un tono rojo de pintalabios con el mismo nombre que usa la propia Lourdes a menudo. Según sus propias palabras: "Tuve una banda sin nombre hace tiempo. Desde entonces me perseguía una obsesión: encontrar el nombre artístico ideal. Un día me enamoré de ese color, lo llevaba una chica. Pronuncié su nombre, ahora es mi pseudónimo."

"Timothy Charles Buckley III (14 de febrero de 1947 – 29 de junio de 1975) fue un músico estadounidense de rock de vanguardia, con influencias de jazz, psicodelia, funk y soul. Su carrera fue corta, entre finales de los 60 y los primeros 70.
