Grobschnitt fue una banda de rock alemán que estuvo en la escena entre 1970 y 1989. Su estilo evolucionó con el tiempo, comenzando con el rock psicodélico de principios del de los 70's antes de la transición en el rock progresivo sinfónico, NDW y, por último, pop rock a mediados de los años 80.
Grobschnitt, a diferencia de otras bandas, utilizó el humor en su música en forma de ruidos inesperados y tontas letras conceptuales.
