Su voz , inspirada en las más grandes , como Etta James o Aretha Franklin , ha sido comparada por la crítica con grandes leyendas como Mick Jagger y Janis Joplin . La actriz ( ha encarnado a Janis Joplin en el Musical de Broadway " Love , Janis " y en la pantalla grande interpretó el papel de Sadie en " Across The Universe " ) y vocalista norteamericana DANA FUCHS proyecta una voz envuelta en una música que bebe directamente de la fuente del Rock , del Soul y del Blues . DANA lanza ahora su cuarto album , " Bliss Avenue " . Completan su discografía " Lonely For A Lifetime " (2003) , " Live in NYC " (2008) y " Love To Beg " (2011) . Procedente de una zona rural de Florida , Dana Fuchs creció rodeada de notas y acordes al ser la más joven de seis hermanos músicos . Los sonidos de Rock clásico no dejaban de salir de su garaje . Siendo adolescente , con 12 años , la pequeña se unió a un coro de Góspel . A los 16 ya estaba al frente de una popular banda local y pronto el hambre de canto le pedía marchar a Nueva York "para cantar el Blues" , decía a sus familiares . Allí conoció al gran guitarrista Jon Diamond y fue cuando formaron la Dana Fuchs Band . A partir de ahí , el grupo entró en el circuito de los mejores clubes de Blues de Nueva York compartiendo escenarios con figuras como John Popper , James Cotton y Taj Mahal , y tras un par de años llenando aforos decidieron crear su propia música . La respuesta de los fans , desde entonces , ha sido abrumadora . La banda ha compartido cartel con Etta James , Marianne Faithfull o Little Feat , por nombrar algunas , y han realizado espectáculos en auditorios como el Mercury Lounge , el Talkhouse o el BB King .
