Comander Cody , alter ego de George Frayne , es una Banda estadounidense que mezcla Country , Folk-Rock , Bluegrass , Western Swing , Rock 'N' Roll , Rockabilly y Jump Blues , todo ello respaldado por una exquisita base de Boogie-Piano .
Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen son : George Frayne IV , alias Commander Cody ( keyboards & vocals ) , Billy C. Farlow ( vocals & harmónica ) , John Tichy ( guitar & vocals ) , Bill Kirchen ( lead guitar ) , Andy Stein ( saxophone & fiddle ) , Paul "Buffalo" Bruce Barlow ( bass guitar ) , Lance Dickerson ( drums ) and Bobby Black ( steel guitar) .
" Lost In The Ozone " , publicado en 1971 , es una delicia de principio a fin ... Versiones escogidas a la perfección como " 20 flight rock " de Eddie Cochran o " Family Bible " de Willie Nelson y canciones propias como " Back to Tennessee " o " Seeds and stems again blues " firmadas por Frayne y Billy C. Farlow . Aunque la canción que sonó en todas las emisoras de radio y que pondrá a la banda en circulación es otra versión : " Hot Rod Lincoln " de Charlie Ryan del año 1955 . El Comandante y sus Pilotos modificaron ligeramente el riff de guitarra e incorporaron arreglos para convertir el tema en un éxito que entró de lleno en la lista de Billboard y que en 2008 fue elegida como la mejor canción de la historia de Michigan , estado originario de Cody y Sus Últimos Pilotos Del Planeta Perdido . REPOSICIÓN DE ESCALERALCIELO

THE COMMITMENTS es una película de 1991 , dirigida por Alan Parker . En un barrio de trabajadores en Dublin Norte , Jimmy Rabbitte ( Robert Arkins ) un joven adolescente , sueña con fundar su propia banda de música Soul , siguiendo el estilo de sus ídolos Otis Redding , Aretha Franklin , James Brown y Wilson Pickett entre otros .

Cuando sus amigos , primeros integrantes de la banda , le preguntan el por qué de querer formar una banda de música negra , él contesta : “ Los irlandeses son los negros de Europa . Los dublineses son los negros de Irlanda . Los de Dublín Norte son los negros de Dublín “ . Comienza colocando un anuncio en un periódico , llamando a una selección en el domicilio de sus padres . Muchos interesados empiezan a aparecer , y con frecuencia son despedidos de entrada , con un portazo de Jimmy . Finalmente Dean ( Félim Gormley ) como saxofonista , Outspan ( Glen Hansard ) como guitarrista , Steven ( Michael Aherne ) como pianista , Derek ( Kenneth McCluskey ) como bajista , Mickah ( Dave Finnegan ) como baterista , que fue reemplazado después por Billy Mooney ( Dick Massey ) en la misma , Sharon ( Andrea Corr ) , como violinista , y un veterano trompetista Joey Fagan " The lips " ( Johnny Murphy ) , que narra historias sobre su juventud en la cual había conocido y trabajado con famosos artistas , son seleccionados. Los primeros ensayos musicales son caóticos . Jimmy decide agregar a un cantante, y conoce y se fija en Deco ( Andrew Strong ) cantando borracho en una boda de unos conocidos . Finalmente se agregan tres chicas del vecindario : Natalie ( Maria Doyle Kennedy ) , Imelda ( Angeline Ball ) y Bernie ( Bronagh Gallagher ) a la parte coral .

La banda elige el nombre de The Commitments y empieza a presentarse en público en distintos ambientes , llenos de entusiasmo y ambición . Pero pronto comienzan a aparecer las dificultades entre los integrantes : celos , envidia , oportunismo , desengaños y diferencias de carácter y artísticas comienzan a minar la escasa disciplina del grupo . El futuro de la banda es inseguro ...

Esta película de Alan Parker se convirtió en el momento de su estreno en todo un clásico . Film y Banda Sonora son todo un rendido homenaje al SOUL más añejo . Respecto a la Banda , ficción y realidad cabalgan juntas , ya que la Banda se formó para la película , no existía con anterioridad , tan sólo el trompetista , Joey Fagan “ The Lips “ ( el componente más viejo además ) era el único profesional ; el resto eran , en ese momento , amateurs . The Corrs , tienen su origen aquí , y el cantante , Andrew Strong ( que en ese momento contaba con 18 años ) en el personaje de Deco , a raíz de la película , comenzó una exitosa , larga y fructífera carrera profesional con su propio grupo . THE COMMITMENTS , han seguido ofreciendo conciertos , han intervenido en festivales y han aparecido en muy contadas ocasiones siempre llevando el sello que creó Roddy Doyle en su libro y que Alan Parker supo retratar en la Gran Pantalla ; bajo la titularidad de Los Commitments , jamás han grabado otro álbum que no sea el de la banda sonora de Parker en 1991 . SOUL de vieja escuela interpretado por unos chicos blancos , irlandeses y de Dublin del Norte … Un repertorio de lujo , versiones de clásicos con un sonido NeoSoul que enriquece cada tema hasta reinventarlo .
