THE ZOMBIES - Greatest Hits (1964-1967)

Colin Blunstone fue el cantante del grupo británico THE ZOMBIES , hasta que la Banda desapareció en 1968 . Mientras Rod Argent y Chris White fundaban ARGENT junto a Russ Ballard , Colin abandonaba la música para trabajar en una compañía de seguros . Es el productor Neil MacArthur el que recupera a Blunstone , dando comienzo a una fructífera , limitada y deliberadamente planificada carrera en solitario durante la década de los 70 . Ya en el tránsito a los años 80 colaboró en varios discos de Alan Parsons como vocalista y formó parte , junto a otros músicos de Alan Parsons Project , del grupo Keats , grabando un excelente álbum de título homónimo , producido por el mismisimo Parsons . Excelente voz la de Colin Blunstone : carnosa , brillante , melancólica , portentosa , nostálgica , doméstica , apasionada , íntima hasta tocar el alma … una de las mejores voces en la Historia del Pop y la maravillosa Voz de aquellos maravillosos Zombies de los años 60 … ¿ Quién no ha cerrado los ojos al sonar los primeros acordes de “ Time Of The Season “ y no ha sentido que esa Voz desnuda nace de la mimísima alma ? … Esta es una recopilación que repasa la carrera en solitario de Colin Blunstone y publicada en 1995 . ALBERT KING - I wanna get funky - 1974

Albert King ( Albert Nelson , como nombre real ) , nació en 1923 en el estado de Mississippi , y fue considerado uno de los Tres Reyes del Blues a la guitarra eléctrica ( B.B. King y Freddie King completarían la terna ) . Su gran físico ( 1’90 metros de altura y 118 kilos de peso ) le valió el apodo de " The Velvet Bulldozer " ( La excavadora de terciopelo ) . El sello característico de Albert King fue su forma de coger la guitarra ( la Gibson Flying V , a la que llamó Lucy , era su preferida ) : como intérprete zurdo la usaba invertida , aunque a diferencia de otros guitarristas zurdos , como Jimi Hendrix , jamás invirtió el orden del encordado , de modo que para él las cuerdas más agudas permanecían arriba . En 1966 firmó con la STAX y en 1967 apareció su legendario y más conocido álbum “ Born Under A Bad Sign “ que hoy reponemos , al tiempo que os presentamos “ I Wanna Get Funky “ publicado en 1974 , considerado y reconocido como una auténtica obra maestra por parte de la crítica y de sus seguidores más incondicionales . Albert King ha influido a muchos guitarristas de Blues como Hendrix , Clapton , Bloomfield , Moore , Vaughan … con los que ha compartido escenarios y estudios a lo largo de más de 40 años de carrera musical , hasta que en 1992 , su corazón se detuvo , en tierras de Tennessee ... nos dejó un suculento y extenso legado y el sonido de su inmortal “ Lucy “ .

Hoy 25 de Abril , hubiera cumplido 91 años ... Feliz Cumpleaños , Albert !!!
