James Patrick “ Jimmy “ Page , nacido en Heston , Middlesex ( Inglaterra ) el 9 de enero de 1944 es un músico multiinstrumentista y un virtuoso guitarrista de rock clásico británico que está considerado uno de los más grandes , influyentes y versátiles músicos y guitarristas de todos los tiempos …… ya en la edición de colección de la prestigiosa revista Rolling Stone " Los 100 Mejores Guitarristas de Todos Los Tiempos " aparece como número 1 .
Ha formado parte de Bandas como The Yardbirds , The New Yardbirds , Led Zeppelin , Honeydrippers y The Firm .
Ha colaborado con innumerables Artistas , entre los que cabe destacar Sonny Boy Williamson , Brian Auger , John Paul Jones , Albert Lee , Screaming Lord Sutch , Roy Harper , Box of Frogs , David Coverdale , Robert Plant , The Black Crowes o Jerry Lee Lewis .
En cambio , su trabajo en solitario es bien escaso : un single y un LP !!!
El 26 de febrero de 1965 publicó en la etiqueta Fontana , un single pre-zeppelin “She Just Satisfies / Keep Moving “ , tocando todos los instrumentos excepto la batería , y se ocupó de las voces principales …. más abajo os ofrecemos dos videoclips ( sólo sonido ) con las dos caras de este single .
“ Outrider “ es el primer y único álbum en solitario de Jimmy Page , editado por Geffen en 1988 . El disco fue grabado y mezclado por el prestigioso ingeniero de sonido Leif Masses en los Sol Studios , propiedad de Page , y fue producido por el mismo Page .
El guitarrista contó con una serie de músicos invitados , como Robert Plant , que canta un tema ( " The Only One " ) , el hijo de John Bonham , Jason a la batería , el vocalista de blues británico Chris Farlowe , el músico y cantante inglés John Miles y el bajista Venezolano radicado en Inglaterra Mr . Durban Laverde entre otros . El LP llegó al puesto nº 26 del Billboard 200 , y fue ubicado en el 16º puesto por la revista Kerrang! entre los álbumes de 1988 .
“ Outrider “ es el único álbum oficial como solista de Page …. y hoy lo traemos al BLOG , dedicándoselo a nuestro amigo odc .
