The Storm - The Storm (1974)

The Storm , o Los Tormentos , un grupo electrizante , potente , " demasiado bueno para ser españoles " decían en su tiempo . Ángel Ruiz (guitarrista) , Diego Ruiz (baterista) y Luis Genil (teclista) fundaron esta banda española a principios de los años 70 , tres jóvenes que se conocieron en una escuela de Sevilla .

Pero su música no tenía nada en común con el Rock Progresivo Andaluz de Smash , Triana o Medina Azahara . Si bien comenzaron a tocar covers de The Beatles , Jimi Hendrix , Cream y Guess Who , al poco tiempo , y con la incorporación de José Torres (bajista) la banda cambió su nombre de Los Tormentos a The Storm , y fue entonces cuando Storm cambió su dirección musical : un sonido de rock pesado con el omnipresente trabajo de órgano de Hammond .

En 1974 , The Storm impresionó a Freddy Mercury cuando actuaron como teloneros de Queen durante un concierto en Barcelona ……. para entonces ya tenían en el mercado su álbum debut homónimo .
