 Álbum de la banda que mezcla blues y rock sureño. Canciones largas y medianamente largas que recuerdan las épicas aventuras de la Marshall Tucker Band o Lynyrd Skynyrd. "Es como si Foghat, Molly Hatchet, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Poison, Mississippi John Hurt, R.L. Burnside, Skynyrd, Mudcrutch, Pete Anderson, Townes Van Zant y Allen Toussaint hubieran formado una banda y el niño hubiera sido bendecido por un ángel de la música country de la frontera entre el sur de Mississippi y Luisiana". La 484 South Band se formó en 2005 cuando Keith Schultz y Twain Pigott empezaron a tocar versiones de canciones en locales de la zona de Baton Rouge. Dos años después, en otoño de 2007, se formó la banda completa al quedar conformada por Keith Schultz (guitarra), Twain Pigott (guitarra), David Johnson (batería/percusión), Jim Oakes (voz), Brady Bagwell (guitarra/voz) y Don Hull (bajo). Schultz, Pigott y Oakes comenzaron a componer las canciones originales que lanzarían a la banda al mundo del rock sureño indie. El primer CD de la banda, Mississippi Nights, se grabó en el verano de 2009 en Route One Recording y fue coproducido por el pionero del indie Chris Hudson (copropietario de Black Dog Records, vinculado a Cary Hudson, Blue Mountain, John Stirratt de Wilco, etc.). El álbum recibió excelentes críticas y sigue siendo un clásico para cualquier oyente de rock sureño. Las enérgicas presentaciones de 484 y su gran atractivo para los fans dieron lugar a presentaciones ante miles de personas (Festival de Música de Atwood, Maratón de Rock & Roll de Nueva Orleans) y a compromisos recurrentes en muchos de los escenarios más famosos y no tan famosos del sur. 2010 fue un año de cambios para la banda, con la partida del miembro fundador Twain Pigott y del vocalista Brady Bagwell para pasar más tiempo con sus familias y dedicarse a otros intereses. En diciembre de 2010, el inesperado fallecimiento del extraordinario bajista Don Hull fue una pérdida devastadora para la banda.
